APC Shifts Zamfara NASS Primaries Date

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a fresh adjustment to the timetable for its National Assembly primary elections in Zamfara State.

According to Ireporter Online, the party disclosed the development in a statement issued on Saturday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, noting that the House of Representatives primary election in the state has been rescheduled to hold on Monday, May 18, 2026, while the Senate primary will now take place on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

The statement further confirmed that the State House of Assembly primary election remains unchanged and will hold on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, while the governorship primary is fixed for Thursday, May 21, 2026. The presidential primary, however, remains scheduled for Monday, May 23, 2026.

The party also released updated dates for primary election appeals in Zamfara State, with appeals arising from the House of Representatives primary to be heard on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. Senate primary appeals are slated for Wednesday, May 20, while appeals from the House of Assembly primary will be considered on Thursday, May 21. Governorship primary appeals have been fixed for Friday, May 22, 2026.

The APC had earlier adjusted its House of Representatives primaries nationwide from Friday, May 15 to Saturday, May 16, 2026, citing logistical considerations.
