According to Ireporter Online, Johnnie Walker Black Label has reaffirmed its commitment to Africa’s fast-growing creative economy through its active participation at the 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), where the brand spotlighted its continued support for talents across film, music, fashion, and digital media.

The 2026 ceremony brought together leading creatives from across the continent in a vibrant celebration of African entertainment, highlighting the increasing intersection between traditional and digital creative industries.

For this year’s edition, the brand threw its weight behind the Best Digital Content Creator category, which recognised standout influencers and creators including winners Sophia Chisom (Soso) and Emmanuel Kanaga, alongside nominees such as Taaoma, Steve Chuks, Destiny Ogie Osarewinda, Akwaman, Benedict Ehimare Oriaifo, Elozonam Ogbolu, and Genoveva Umeh.

The company also acknowledged the wider impact of the nominated creators, noting their role in shaping digital storytelling and audience engagement across the continent.

Johnnie Walker linked its participation to its AfroExchange initiative, a platform designed to encourage cultural collaboration and creative exchange across Africa’s entertainment landscape.

Speaking on the brand’s involvement, Ifeoma Agu, Group Head of Culture, Influencers and Advocacy at Diageo South, West and Central Africa, said the brand remains committed to empowering creatives who continue to push boundaries and redefine African storytelling across multiple platforms.
