Tinubu’s Daughter Reportedly Threatens Protest Over APC Primary Election Results In Lagos

The Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Mrs Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, has threatened to stage a protest over the outcome of the recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Lagos State, alleging irregularities in the process.

According to Ireporter Online, Tinubu-Ojo claimed that the exercise was skewed in favour of the party’s Justice Forum bloc, particularly in certain constituencies. She made the remarks on Wednesday during the weekly meeting of market leaders and stakeholders held at her office in Alausa, Ikeja.

She specifically faulted the results released for Mushin Federal Constituency 2, Agege Constituency 2, and Ojokoro constituencies, insisting that the rightful winners were denied their mandates.

The Lagos State chapter of the APC had earlier released its list of candidates who emerged from the House of Representatives and Lagos State House of Assembly primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections. The list, signed by the state chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, confirmed 24 House of Representatives candidates and 40 House of Assembly candidates.

Tinubu-Ojo called on both state and national leaders of the APC to urgently investigate the disputed primaries before final ratification, warning that failure to act could heighten internal tensions within the ruling party.

“We are ready to protest because of Seye Oladejo of Mushin Federal Constituency 02, Mutiu Olaide Olaidebo of Agege 2 constituency, Olotu Ojo of Ojokoro constituency, because we know they won this election. Their mandate should not be given to somebody else,” she said.

She further alleged that party structures were being influenced by factional divisions between the Justice Forum and the Mandate Group, warning that such rivalry could undermine the APC’s strength ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“We have to cry out now. Let APC cancel Justice and Mandate Forums. We are one family. We are for APC,” she said, adding that internal alignments based on political interests were becoming unhealthy for party unity.

Tinubu-Ojo also criticized the growing trend of political realignments within the party, stating that some members were abandoning the Mandate Group for the Justice Forum due to perceived advantages.

She stressed that such developments send a wrong signal that hard work is not rewarded in politics, urging party leadership to address the situation.

Reaffirming the support of market women across Lagos for the APC and the governorship ambition of Obafemi Hamzat, she, however, insisted that traders deserve greater recognition and inclusion in governance, noting that they remain a key political constituency in the state.
