Latest Dollar To Naira Exchange Rate For May 28, 2026
The Dollar to Naira exchange rate at the parallel market, popularly known as the black market or Aboki FX, remained a major focus for forex traders and Nigerians monitoring currency fluctuations across the country. According to Bureau De Change operators in Lagos, the United States dollar exchanged at ₦1,393 for selling and ₦1,385 for buying on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
Reports indicate that the rates were obtained from traders operating within the Lagos parallel market, where forex transactions continue outside the official banking system. Market observers noted that exchange rates in the black market are subject to constant changes depending on demand, supply, and market conditions.
Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Nigeria has continued to distance itself from transactions carried out in the parallel market, reiterating that the apex bank does not recognize black market dealings. The CBN has consistently advised individuals and businesses seeking foreign exchange transactions to use official banking channels and authorized financial institutions.
At the official market, the Dollar to Naira exchange rate recorded a highest rate of ₦1,376 and a lowest rate of ₦1,374, reflecting a slight gap between the official and parallel market windows.
Financial analysts also warned that forex rates may vary across different locations and dealers, as prices are largely determined by prevailing market realities at the time of transaction.
