According to Ireporter Online, popular Nigerian clergywoman Funke Adejumo of Agape Christian Ministries has advised married men against losing their sense of identity in the bid to constantly satisfy their wives, stressing that it is impossible for any man to fully meet all a woman’s expectations.

She made the remarks during a recent sermon, where she explained that women naturally tend to desire improvement and change, using common beauty practices as an example of how preferences often evolve even when satisfaction has already been achieved. She further suggested that this tendency should help men understand that perfection in relationships is unrealistic.

The pastor stated that even divine creation does not stop women from seeking alterations in their appearance, noting practices such as the use of artificial nails and wigs despite natural beauty being provided. In her words, she cautioned husbands not to “kill themselves” in a bid to please their partners, emphasizing that continuous self-sacrifice beyond healthy limits is unnecessary.

While she encouraged husbands to love and care for their wives, she warned against excessive pressure to meet every expectation, insisting that balance is important in marriage.

Her comments have since generated widespread reactions online. Some social media users supported her position, describing it as practical marital guidance, while others argued that mutual sacrifice and understanding are essential foundations of a successful relationship.

The statement continues to stir conversations across various platforms on issues surrounding marriage expectations, self-worth, and emotional balance within relationships.
