Nollywood, I’m Sorry” — Ray Emordi Makes Surprise Return To Acting After Quitting For Music

According to Ireporter Online, Nollywood actor Ray Emordi has made a return to the film industry only a few months after announcing his departure to pursue music on a full-time basis.

The 35-year-old actor had earlier declared in February that he was stepping away from acting to concentrate on music, which he described as his first passion. However, after a four-month break from movie sets, Emordi has now reversed his decision, stating that the time away helped him rediscover his love for acting.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, the actor explained that his initial exit was driven by exhaustion after years of continuous work in Nollywood. He revealed that between 2017 and 2025, he featured in about 300 productions, including films, television series, and short projects, a workload he said left him both physically and mentally drained.

Emordi admitted that the decision to step back was necessary for his wellbeing, noting that he failed to properly manage his workload during those years.

He was quoted as saying that he regrets pushing himself too hard, stressing that he is now returning with a more balanced approach to his career. According to him, he intends to take on fewer roles going forward, focusing on creative fulfilment rather than financial gain, with the aim of leaving a meaningful impact through his work.
