It’s Not About What Someone Did” — Lamido Fires Message To PDP Aspirants Ahead Of 2027

Lamido stressed that a shift toward policies and governance-focused discussions would help strengthen national unity and address Nigeria’s growing socio-economic challenges.

He made the remarks on Saturday while hosting PDP governorship candidates from Gombe, Kano, Bauchi, and Yobe states at his residence in Bamaina, Birnin Kudu Local Government Area.

The former governor emphasized the need for political actors to reorient the country’s political culture, stating that elections should be centered on ideas rather than individuals. He noted that Nigerians, regardless of background, share a common identity and collective interest in national progress.

Lamido further argued that political debates should focus on key national issues such as insecurity, education, economic development, and corruption, adding that these challenges require urgent attention from aspiring leaders.

He maintained that campaigns built on such issues would ensure the emergence of a people-oriented government after the elections.

During the visit, the PDP governorship candidate in Gombe State and former Minister of Communications, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, praised Lamido for his consistency, fatherly guidance, and commitment to speaking truth to power.

Pantami said the delegation visited to seek Lamido’s advice and political guidance as they navigate the evolving political landscape, adding that leaders like him remain vital for the country’s democratic growth.
