According to Ireporter Online, tragedy has struck the family of the immediate past Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Baba Tela, following the death of his two children, Mustapha and Ummi, in a fatal road accident.

The siblings reportedly lost their lives on Saturday after the vehicle conveying them was involved in a crash along the Bauchi–Azare highway while they were returning to Bauchi from Azare, the headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area. It was gathered that the victims died instantly due to the severity of the impact, and their remains were later taken to a hospital in Bauchi where medical personnel confirmed them dead.

The devastating incident has since drawn widespread sympathy, including from Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, who expressed deep sorrow over the loss in a statement issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado. The governor described the tragedy as heartbreaking and a painful blow not only to the Tela family but also to the entire state, noting that no words could adequately comfort the bereaved family at this difficult time.

Governor Mohammed prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased, asking Almighty Allah to forgive their shortcomings and grant them eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus, while also seeking strength and patience for the family to bear the loss.
