Osun Poll: Full List Of 19 LGAs Won By Adeleke
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Osun State Governor and Accord Party candidate, Ademola Adeleke, winner of the 2026 governorship election after securing victory in 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas.
According to Ireporter Online, Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who recorded 444,815 votes. The result gave Adeleke a winning margin of 66,252 votes, while Oyebamiji won 11 local government areas.
The local government areas where Adeleke emerged victorious include Ede North, Osogbo, Ede South, Iwo, Ife East, Ife Central, Ifelodun, Oriade, Egbedore, Odo Otin, Ilesa West, Ila, Ayedaade, Ife North, Orolu, Boluwaduro, Ayedire, Ejigbo and Ifedayo.
Among the notable results, Adeleke secured 35,427 votes in Ede North against Oyebamiji’s 10,283, while he polled 36,480 votes in Osogbo compared with the APC candidate’s 30,474.
In Ede South, Adeleke recorded 26,188 votes against 6,219 for Oyebamiji, while in Iwo he scored 27,085 votes to the APC candidate’s 19,660.
Adeleke also won Ife East with 27,201 votes against Oyebamiji’s 18,600 and secured Ife Central with 21,171 votes compared with the APC’s 15,913.
The governor recorded 21,107 votes in Ifelodun, 21,343 in Oriade and 19,278 in Egbedore, defeating the APC candidate in each of the three local government areas.
Other areas won by Adeleke included Odo Otin, where he polled 18,003 votes against 15,435 for Oyebamiji; Ilesa West, where he secured 16,196 against 12,756; and Ila, where he recorded 16,211 votes compared with 12,934 for the APC.
He also prevailed in Ayedaade with 16,681 votes to Oyebamiji’s 15,719, Ife North with 13,879 against 9,613, and Orolu with 12,352 compared with 10,622.
The Accord candidate narrowly defeated the APC in Boluwaduro, scoring 7,118 votes against 7,050. He also won Ayedire with 11,073 votes to 9,910 for Oyebamiji, while securing victories in Ejigbo and Ifedayo.
The election, however, was not without reported controversies. The European Union Support to Democratic Governance in Nigeria Election Observation Hub said it recorded more than 38 security incidents and 323 alleged electoral offences and irregularities during the exercise.
The observation hub, comprising several civil society organisations, said violence and other electoral challenges affected some of the 726 polling units monitored across Osun State.
