I Expect Oyebamiji To Call Me” – Adeleke Speaks After Osun Victory

Osun State Governor and Accord Party candidate, Ademola Adeleke, has expressed gratitude to God and the people of the state following his victory in the governorship election held on August 15, 2026.

According to Ireporter Online, Adeleke spoke shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him the winner of the keenly contested election, defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

The governor described the victory as a triumph for democracy and a reflection of the confidence the people of Osun State have in his administration.

Adeleke attributed his re-election to the support of the electorate, pointing to his administration’s achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, security and other areas of governance.

He also expressed confidence that Oyebamiji would accept the outcome of the election, stressing that there should be no bitterness after the contest.

“I am expecting the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, to call me and congratulate me,” Adeleke said, while describing the election as a contest with “no victor, no vanquished.”

The governor further credited his victory to his faith in God, declaring that he serves a God who never fails.

Adeleke also commended President Bola Tinubu over what he described as the successful conduct of the election, amid the political rivalry between the competing parties.

INEC declared Adeleke the winner after he secured 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji polled 444,815 votes. The result gave the incumbent a margin of 66,252 votes.

The Accord Party candidate emerged victorious in 19 of Osun State’s 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji won the remaining 11 local government areas
