VIDEO: Nollywood Actor Emeka Ike Breaks Down In Tears Over Olu Jacobs’ De@th

An emotional video showing Nollywood actor Emeka Ike shedding tears following the death of veteran actor Olu Jacobs has surfaced online.

According to reports, Ike appeared visibly emotional in the short video as he reacted to the news of the passing of his senior colleague, whose death was announced by his son, Olusoji Jacobs, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

The Jacobs family, in announcing the actor’s death, paid tribute to him as “The Lion of Lufodo” and appealed to bloggers and social media influencers to respect the family’s privacy as they mourned.

In the video circulating online, Emeka Ike was seen standing at a residential gate and appeared overwhelmed by grief. He was also heard lamenting that he was unable to visit Olu Jacobs before his death.

The emotional reaction has drawn attention from fans and colleagues in the Nigerian entertainment industry, coming shortly after the announcement of the veteran actor’s passing.

Meanwhile, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed sadness over Olu Jacobs’ death in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Tinubu described Jacobs as one of Nigeria’s distinguished actors and a towering figure whose career spanned theatre, television and film.

The President also recalled Jacobs’ training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and his subsequent work in British television and international cinema before he returned to Nigeria, where he became a major figure in the country’s film industry.

Tinubu noted that Jacobs received several major industry honours and awards and was also conferred with the national honour of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR).
