Previously, reports suggested that the scholar met his demise allegedly at the hands of operatives from the state’s security outfit, the Community Protection Guards (CPG), who purportedly raided his home without authorization and subsequently interrogated him on matters concerning the state’s security.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, it was clarified that the detainees were not members of the CPG but rather associated with an illegal vigilante group.

According to the statement, preliminary investigations revealed that one of the arrested vigilantes was a former student of the late Sheikh, shedding light on potential motives behind the tragic incident.

The statement emphasized the importance of this information in aiding authorities to comprehend the circumstances surrounding the scholar’s death and take appropriate measures.

Meanwhile, in another disturbing development, bandits launched an attack on a mosque situated in Tsafe town, the administrative hub of Tsafe Local Government Area in Zamfara State. The assailants struck around 5 a.m. on Thursday, targeting worshippers preparing for their morning prayers.
