drawing a remarkable crowd of worshippers. Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer, opened the event with a message highlighting the importance of praise as a potent spiritual weapon.

The energetic service featured vibrant praise and dance, establishing a spirited atmosphere for the week-long Congress. The RCCG All Stars and the church’s mass choir, boasting over 2,000 members, led the congregation in lengthy worship sessions, expressing gratitude for past blessings and eagerly anticipating new ones.

In his sermon titled “Praise as a Weapon of Warfare,” Pastor Adeboye accentuated the crucial role of praise in achieving spiritual victories.

“Praise serves as a weapon of warfare. By expressing gratitude for what God has done, we invite Him to do even more. Without thankfulness, we may miss out on divine help in future struggles. Life is a battle — winners take all, and the defeated lose everything,” he remarked.

Pastor Adeboye reassured worshippers that continual praise lays the groundwork for enduring victories:

“When you consistently praise God, He will rise to your aid. Even Satan, who has brought down many great individuals throughout history, will retreat in the face of God’s support. This evening, as we worship, we are establishing the foundation for your victory in life.”

In his welcome address, Pastor Adeboye promised attendees that this year’s Congress would be one to remember. Acknowledging the challenges of 2024, he expressed gratitude for God’s protection and called upon participants to recognize their roles as soldiers of Christ.

“This Congress is unique, as reflected in our theme, ‘Onward Christian Soldiers.’ It is both an invitation and a challenge — for those already in the Lord’s army and those ready to enlist. Are you prepared to move forward with Him leading you?”

He urged attendees to engage fully in all sessions, pray passionately, and remain free from distractions:

“Listen closely to every message. Pray like never before. The Lord has promised a Congress that will advance us spiritually, physically, emotionally, and materially. Are you ready to contribute?”

The Holy Ghost Congress, which originated in 1998 with the historic Lekki gathering of over seven million worshippers, has been marked by extraordinary miracles. Since then, the event has progressed to the Redemption Camp and transformed into a week-long spiritual journey.

This year’s Congress continues this legacy, providing worshippers a valuable opportunity to hear God’s voice, rejuvenate their faith, and enhance their spiritual walk.
