2027: Portable Goes Spiritual, Fires Warning At Yorubas Planning To Vote Against Bola Tinubu

Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, has openly declared his support for the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to Ireporter Online, the singer made the declaration in a video shared on his social media platforms, where he urged Nigerians to back the President in order to maintain peace in the country. He further issued stern warnings, invoking spiritual consequences against members of the Yoruba community who may choose to oppose Tinubu’s re-election.

Portable also alleged that he has been approached by the All Progressives Congress to support its campaign efforts, claiming he had already received party-branded materials and would soon begin grassroots mobilization, including the distribution of food items to supporters.

In the same video, the singer emphasized that national stability should be prioritised, insisting that supporting Tinubu would help prevent unrest. His comments, however, have sparked widespread reactions across social media due to their controversial tone and the use of spiritual threats.

Meanwhile, Portable recently generated further debate within the music industry after questioning the career progression of artistes who exit Mavin Records. In another viral clip, he raised concerns about the post-label success of some former signees and proposed a collaboration with music executive Don Jazzy.

He specifically mentioned Rema, suggesting the rising star may have lost momentum, while acknowledging the continued success of Tiwa Savage. The singer added that working with a structured label like Mavin could significantly enhance his own career trajectory.
