2027: South-East Group Endorses Tinubu For Second Term, Hails Reform Gains

A prominent grassroots civic organisation in the South-East, the Tell Your Neighbour Organisation (TYNO), has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

According to Ireporter Online, the group announced its position during a press briefing in Abuja after presenting a performance scorecard on the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The organisation’s Chairman, Prince Chidi Eze, said the endorsement followed extensive consultations, field assessments and engagements with members, community structures and stakeholders across the five South-Eastern states.

Eze explained that the group had closely monitored the Federal Government’s policies and programmes and concluded that the country was making progress under the current administration.

The civic organisation particularly commended the removal of the petrol subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange market, describing the measures as difficult but necessary economic reforms aimed at reducing leakages, increasing government revenue and boosting investor confidence.

TYNO also praised the administration for its infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, while highlighting investments in education and youth development.

The group cited initiatives such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme as examples of efforts aimed at improving human capital development and expanding opportunities for young Nigerians.

On security, Eze acknowledged what he described as progress in the fight against insurgency and commended the administration for increased support to the nation’s armed forces.

According to the organisation, discontinuing the ongoing reforms midway could undermine the progress already recorded. It argued that another four-year term would allow the government to consolidate its policies, complete major projects and deliver greater benefits to Nigerians.

TYNO, which claims to have more than seven million volunteers, also announced plans to commence a nationwide voter education campaign ahead of the 2027 elections. The organisation said it intends to reach at least five million Nigerians through grassroots and door-to-door mobilisation.
