Governor Senator Uba Sani confirmed the development in a statement issued on Sunday.

“We are pleased to inform the public that the Kuriga school children have been safely released,” the statement read.

Acknowledging the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in prioritizing the safety of Nigerians, Governor Sani expressed gratitude for the President’s support during the ordeal.

He also commended the Nigerian Army for their bravery and dedication in ensuring the successful release of the abducted children.

“The Nigerian Army has demonstrated that with courage and commitment, criminal elements can be defeated, and security restored in our communities,” the governor remarked.

Furthermore, Governor Sani extended appreciation to all Nigerians who fervently prayed for the safe return of the schoolchildren, attributing their release to divine intervention.

The children, who were abducted from LEA Primary School and Government Secondary School, Kuriga, on March 7, 2024, were reportedly held for ransom. However, details regarding the resolution of the ransom demand were not disclosed.
