According to IReporter Online, Nollywood actress Blessing Obasi has revealed that she is now more intentional about the roles she accepts, noting that she prefers characters that challenge her craft and push her beyond her comfort zone.

The actress made this known during an interview with Saturday Beats, where she discussed her evolving approach to storytelling and the kind of projects she hopes to take on in the future. She explained that she is drawn to emotionally rich narratives that provoke thought, inspire conversations, and reflect the complexity of human experiences. According to her, any role that intimidates her slightly or stretches her creatively is usually a strong indication that she should take it on.

Speaking about her character Mimi in Blood Sisters 2, Blessing stated that her process begins with understanding the motivations behind a character rather than passing judgment. She emphasized that she focuses on empathy and comprehension when interpreting roles.

The actress also described acting as a collaborative art rather than a competitive field, stressing that every performer contributes to building a believable story world for the audience.

On her acting approach, she noted that she fully immerses herself in her characters during production to deliver authenticity, but disconnects from the role once filming is completed. She added that her goal is always for viewers to become so engaged in the character that they momentarily forget the actor behind it.
