ADC Politicians Were A Threat Before’ — Edo APC Chairman, Tenebe
According to Ireporter Online, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Jarrett Tenebe, has declared that politicians aligned with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) no longer pose any threat to the ruling party in the state.
Tenebe made the remarks during an interview on PFm TV, where he maintained that the APC remains firmly in control of the political landscape and is currently focused on strengthening its structures through membership expansion and electoral mobilisation.
He attributed recent criticisms directed at the APC by the ADC to what he described as internal crises within the opposition party, including alleged disputes surrounding its state secretariat. According to him, such internal disagreements have weakened the party and diminished its relevance in Edo State.
The APC chairman explained that the ruling party is presently engaged in electronic registration of members, noting that several political parties are steadily merging into the APC, both within Edo State and across the country. He said the growing influx of new members reflects the party’s increasing popularity and organisational strength.
Tenebe insisted that the ADC lacks a visible presence in the state, claiming that only a handful of prominent figures, including former APC leaders John Odigie-Oyegun and Oserheimen Osunbor, are associated with the party. He further alleged that both men owed substantial unpaid party dues from their time in the APC, adding that the party would soon take steps to recover the outstanding payments.
Reaffirming his loyalty to President Bola Tinubu, Tenebe assured that Edo State would deliver 3.5 million votes for the President, stressing that the party’s commitment to this pledge remained unwavering.
He also praised the performance of APC governors, particularly in Edo State, stating that their achievements were boosting the party’s electoral prospects. Drawing comparisons with Lagos State, which he described as a model of sustained governance under the APC, Tenebe expressed confidence that Edo State would remain under the party’s control for a long time.
