Aduke Gold’s Final Journey: Family Announces Burial Rites, FG Disburses N130B to Healthcare Centers

Lagos, Nigeria – The family of the late gospel singer Aduke Gold has released details of her burial rites, scheduled to take place almost a week after her passing on August 13, 2024. The heartfelt announcement was made public on Saturday, August 17, through an obituary banner.

The funeral activities will begin with a candlelight service on Wednesday, August 21, at Ayanleye Primary School, Idiagbon Bus Stop, College Road, Ifako Ijaiye, Ogba, starting at 6 PM. This will be followed by an artist night on Thursday, August 22, at the same location, spanning from 6 PM to 6 AM. The final lying in state and burial service is scheduled for Friday, August 23, at Lagos African Church Grammar School, College Bus Stop, College Road, Ogba, commencing at 9 AM.

In other news, the Federal Government has allocated a substantial N130.8 billion over the last five years to bolster primary healthcare centers (PHCs) across Nigeria. This significant investment, part of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF), aims to reduce maternal and infant mortality while enhancing access to quality healthcare services, particularly for the most vulnerable populations.

For the year 2024, the government has already disbursed N25.8 billion, with an additional N12.9 billion set to be distributed. These funds have been allocated to 8,809 PHCs nationwide, ensuring at least one center in each political ward across every Local Government Area (LGA). The initiative, managed by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), National Emergency Medical Treatment Committee (NEMTC), and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), also saw 1.96 million Nigerians enrolled under the NHIA during the same period. By 2027, the BHCPF aims to double the number of PHCs in every ward.

Meanwhile, in a bid to engage and empower the youth, President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje will host the Progressive Young Leaders Summit from September 3rd to 5th, 2024, at the Presidential Villa. This event will foster intergenerational dialogue and provide a platform for young Nigerians to engage with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu. The summit will feature Ministerial Town Hall sessions, allowing participants to interact directly with government leaders on key issues such as education, technology, and economic development. Vice President Shettina will open the three-day event, while President Tinubu will deliver the keynote address and receive the summit’s communique.
