According to Ireporter Online, the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, members of the National Assembly, and the Federal Executive Council for the progress and transformation Nigeria has experienced since 2023.

Akpabio delivered the commendation during the funeral service of his late in-law, Elder Essien Pius Ubeng, held at the Methodist Church, Nigeria, Ukanna Diocese, in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

Speaking at the event, Akpabio highlighted the positive changes witnessed in the country’s economy, security, and infrastructure over the past three years. “We are not yet where we aspire to be, but the nation has moved significantly from where it was. With the continued support and prayers of Nigerians, we will achieve even greater progress,” he said. He also expressed gratitude to Vice President Shettima, members of the National Assembly, and the Federal Executive Council for supporting the administration in delivering tangible benefits to Nigerians, emphasizing that these efforts are carried out without political, religious, or ethnic bias.

Paying tribute to the late Ubeng, Akpabio described him as a man of integrity who seamlessly integrated into the family, fulfilling the roles of both a brother and in-law with warmth and care. He praised Ubeng’s emotional balance and leadership, noting that these qualities earned him respect both as a community leader and as a Lay Preacher of the Methodist Church.
