APC MEDIA TEAM: GLORY…GLORY…GLORY By John Desmond.

The Nigerian legend, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is one rare personality. He possesses selflessness, strides, achievements and other features. He is a politician, businessman and leader of thought, who has earned a place in history as one of the most spectacular political gems who effected monumental democratic change in the country’s political evolution.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, before releasing the List of Members of his APC Presidential Campaign Council, consulted with “Who is Who” in the Nigerian media industry. He did so to humbly canvass their support in his drive for a better Nigeria.

It is believed that his love for promoting media opportunities made him a friend of the media. A cursory look at the men and women lineup for his campaign media strategies would indicate to you his vast experience in image making.

Let us look at the lineup of excellent leadership of his media campaign, both of new and conventional media.

Festus Keyamo, SAN, is a columnist, human rights activist and Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He began his legal career in 1993, at Gani Fawehinmi’s Chambers, in Lagos State. After he spent two years at Gani Fawehinmi’s Chambers, Keyamo left and established Festus Keyamo Chambers.

Festus Keyamo was named by the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee (LPPC), Nigeria, in July 2017, as one of the outstanding Nigerian lawyers to be awarded the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

Keyamo was counsel to the leader of the Niger-Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, in his trial for treasonable felony. He was also lead counsel in the treason trial of Ralph Uwazuruike, the leader of the Movement For The Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB). Keyamo was also a counsel in the murder of Bola Ige. Festus Keyamo is now Spokesperson for the Tinubu-APC Presidential Campaign Council and it is hard for any of his contemporaries to beat him.

Adebayo Onanuga. This is a Nigerian journalist who co-founded TheNews Magazine and a former managing director of the News Agency of Nigeria. He was also the CEO and editor-in-chief of PM News and TheNEWS magazine.

Bayo, as he is fondly known, is a 1980 graduate of mass communications, from the University of Lagos. He worked for Practions Partners in early 1982 and joined Ogun State Television as a pioneer staff in June 1982. In July 1983, he moved to The Guardian in Lagos as sub-editor and left just 17 months afterwards, to start Weekly Titbits.

In furtherance of his media career, Bayo Onanuga joined the National Concord, in January 1985, as Senior Features Writer. His service was later transferred to the African Concord magazine. Onanuga, in 1989, was the international editor of the magazine, based in London. Later that year, he was appointed the Editor. But in April 1992, Onanuga resigned from Concord after he declined to apologize to the military dictator, General Ibrahim Babangida, over a cover story: “Has Babangida Given Up?” The story triggered the closure of the Concord Group, as orchestrated by the military junta. Onanuga, together with Seye Kehinde, owner of City People Magazine, Dapo Olorunyomi, publisher of Premium Times, Sani Kabir, who later became Sarki of Hausawa in Ebute Meta, Idowu Obasa, who served as Chairman in Onigbongbo Local Government Area, Ikeja, Babafemi Ojudu, Senator representing Ekiti, and Kunle Ajibade teamed up to set up The News Magazine, in February 1993. After TheNEWS was shut down by the military government, the group floated TEMPO magazines and, later, P.M. NEWS, in 1994.

During the military era of Sani Abacha, Bayo Onanuga was held captive by State Security Service, in Lagos, for some time, but later escaped, left the country and returned in 1998, after the death of Abacha.

Bayo Onanuga is now leading the Media and Publicity Directorate of the APC-Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council.

Femi Fani Kayode (FFK) is a Nigerian politician, essayist, poet and lawyer.

The Nigeria media friend and news generator, Fani-Kayode, was the Special Assistant (Public Affairs) to President Olusegun Obasanjo, from July 2003, to June 2006. He later was appointed the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, from 22 June to 7 November 2006, and as the Minister of Aviation from 7 November 2006 to 29 May 2007.

What many don’t know about Femi Fani-Kayode is that he is a foundational member of the APC. He is currently leading the New Media platform of the Victory Campaign.

Modibo Kawu. He is a former NBC Director General, a journalist per excellence.

Bar Felix Morka. The APC challenger and defender of the progressive party.

Bashir Ahmad. He is the presidential media innovator and a young mover of the new media.

Otunba Biodun Ajiboye. A political calculator and a media guru with good network in telecomucation. Otunba Biodun Ajiboye , one of Nigeria’s foremost telecom And ICT journalists and publisher and editor in chief of Nigerian Telecom News , executive chairman of logica media Group and convener of Nigerian Telecom awards , Telecom Industry ‘s most respected award institution .

He is also the Managing Director of Logica communications and a registered advertising agency, Ajiboye is a fellow of the chattered institute of administration and a Registered practioner of Advertising .

Joe Igbokwe. A nationalist and loyalist per excellence.

MR. AJURI NGELALE. He is an editor, columnist, and an investigative reporter. Currently, he is working as Senior Media Assistant to the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.

Time would fail me if I fail to mention God-fearing Senator Smart Adeyemi, a Senator and former President of Nigerian Inion of Journalists (NUJ).

Young communicators, such as the likes of  Osigwe Omo Ikirodah,  Osa Chris, Zara Onyinye, Zenat Garuba, Kamila Olagoke, Sherifat Abdulahi, Jude Balogun, Seyi Mutumina and the leader of Young Professionals of Nigeria, Pastor John Desmond, leading the airwaves for the APC winning campaign, called THE CAMPAIGN OF VICTORY.
