APGA Fixes April 30 Deadline For Nationwide Member Registration
According to Ireporter Online, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has announced April 30, 2026, as the final deadline for the revalidation and registration of both new and existing members nationwide ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party stated that the exercise is part of efforts to update its membership records in line with statutory requirements. In a notice issued in Awka by its National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Ejimofor Opara, APGA explained that the directive aligns with Section 77(5) of the Electoral Act 2026, which mandates political parties to submit a comprehensive digital membership register to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The party further clarified that only members whose details are duly captured in its digital database and transmitted to INEC will be eligible to participate in its primary elections for the 2027 polls. This includes aspirants seeking party tickets, as well as delegates and voters involved in the primaries.
APGA warned that failure to complete the registration or revalidation process before the stipulated deadline will result in automatic exclusion from all primary election-related activities. It emphasized that no extension will be granted beyond April 30, urging members and aspirants to comply strictly through the party’s official online registration platform.
The notice was addressed to all party members and stakeholders, with a firm call for full adherence to the directive.
