Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Kano Zone, has expressed deep disillusionment and concern over the continuous victimisation, intimidation, harassment, and dehumanisation of its members in several public universities. ASUU-Kano highlighted the troubling trend, describing it as an assault on academic freedom and the dignity of educators across the nation.

The union’s leadership called for immediate action to address the violations, urging relevant authorities to protect the rights of its members and foster an environment where academic staff can work without fear of reprisal. The ongoing victimisation, according to the union, is a serious threat to the quality of education in Nigeria, as it demoralises the workforce responsible for shaping the future of the country.

ASUU-Kano reaffirmed its commitment to stand by its members and resist any attempts to silence their voices or undermine their contributions to national development. The union has vowed to continue advocating for the rights of university staff, ensuring that justice prevails and that the integrity of Nigeria’s academic institutions is preserved.
