Atiku Extends Congratulations To Ghana’s President-elect, John Mahama

indicate that Mahamudu Bawumia, the candidate from the ruling party, conceded defeat to Mahama following the December 7 election results.

In a post on his official X account, Atiku celebrated Mahama’s victory, referring to it as a landslide win.

“Your Excellency, Mr. President-elect John Mahama, @JDMahama, I extend my warmest congratulations on your victory. I heard you were heading to church, so I wanted to reach out before your Sunday service. Once again, please accept my heartfelt congratulations on your landslide victory,” Atiku wrote.

Earlier, Mahamudu Bawumia, the candidate from Ghana’s ruling New Patriotic Party, also congratulated Mahama during a press conference. “The people of Ghana have spoken; they have voted for change, and we approach this with all humility,” he stated.

Mahama later confirmed on his X account that he had received a congratulatory call from Bawumia.
