is believed to be part of ongoing efforts to build a strong opposition coalition to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming polls.

According to Ireporteronline Atiku, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was accompanied by prominent political figures, including former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, former Cross River State Governor Liyel Imoke, and Senator Abdul Ningi, representing Bauchi Central.

Atiku’s media adviser, Paul Ibe, confirmed the meeting, stating it was part of the former vice president’s continued engagements with key political stakeholders.

A source close to the discussions revealed that the primary focus was on coalition strategies ahead of the 2027 elections. “The meeting is related to the coalition talks,” the source disclosed to TheCable.

Atiku has consistently emphasized the need for opposition parties to unite in order to counter the APC’s growing dominance. In November 2023, he urged opposition groups to form a broad coalition, warning that Nigeria risks becoming a one-party state without a strong opposition force.
