Badenoch Sparks Outrage: Nigerian Police Stole My Brother’s Watch And Shoes
Kemi Badenoch, leader of the United Kingdom’s Conservative Party, has sparked controversy with her harsh remarks about Nigeria, calling it a “very poor country.” In a recent interview with ireporteronline, Badenoch, who adopted her husband’s last name, Adegoke,…Badenoch Sparks Outrage: Nigerian Police Stole My Brother’s Watch And Shoes
shared disturbing personal experiences with the Nigerian police.
She claimed that officers from the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) stole her brother’s watch and shoes, describing her encounter with them as “very negative.” She contrasted this with her positive experience with British police, noting that when she was a victim of burglary in the UK, the police responded quickly and were helpful.
Badenoch continued, “In Nigeria, the police rob us. People justify this behavior by saying it’s due to my race, but I remember specifically when they took my brother’s belongings. It’s a very poor country, and when you give people a weapon, it becomes a license for intimidation.”
She stressed that the issues with policing in Nigeria should not be used to measure the standards of law enforcement in the UK, where she experienced a different approach.
These remarks have added to the ongoing debate surrounding Badenoch’s controversial statements about Nigeria and her stance on various international issues.
