Lokpobiri, made this clear during an inspection of Geoplex Oilfield Services (OFS) and WCS facilities in Port Harcourt.
In a statement, the Minister highlighted the importance of partnering with indigenous service providers, asserting that these collaborations are critical to meeting the nation’s ambitious production goals. “Our strategy to increase oil production will be fruitless without robust collaborations with local service providers. With President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, we are ensuring that these partnerships flourish,” Lokpobiri remarked.
Geoplex Oilfield Services was commended for its cutting-edge facilities, which are on par with international standards, proving that indigenous firms can effectively compete in the global oil service industry. “Geoplex is well-equipped to address the needs of the oil and gas sector,” said the Minister.
Wole Ogunsanya, Chairman of Geoplex Group, expressed his gratitude for the government’s recognition of local oil service providers. “We are proud to support the nation’s oil production goals with our facilities, investments, and expertise. We are committed to contributing to Nigeria’s energy future,” he stated.
The inspection served as a reminder of the critical role indigenous companies play in Nigeria’s oil sector. The Minister stressed that continued investment in local firms and a conducive business environment are essential for revitalizing the industry. He also praised Geoplex’s leadership, stating, “Their work sets a high standard, and companies like Geoplex demonstrate that indigenous firms are more than capable of providing world-class services.”
