The church made an announcement about Pastor Odukoya’s demise through a statement on its official Facebook page, disclosing that he passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023, in the United States of America (USA).

“The Fountain of Life Church Family, with complete acceptance of the divine will of God, announces the transition to a higher realm of our Father, Teacher, and a devoted servant of the Almighty, Pastor Daniel Taiwo Odukoya, the Founding Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church. He departed to his heavenly abode on the 7th of August 2023 in the USA,” the church wrote.

“We wholeheartedly surrender to You, O LORD!!! We express our gratitude to the Lord for gifting us with an exceptional leader!!!”

Pastor Odukoya was born on June 15, 1956, in Kaduna city, where he was raised as well.

He served as the senior pastor of The Fountain of Life Church located in Ilupeju, Lagos State, and this congregation had a membership of more than 8,000 individuals.

Odukoya began his educational journey at Baptist Primary School on Kigo Road in Kaduna, followed by St. Paul’s College (now called Kufena College, Wusasa), Zaria, for his secondary education.

Later, in 1976, he enrolled at the University of Ibadan, where he earned a degree in petroleum engineering in 1981.

In 1980, Odukoya crossed paths with Bimbo Williams while at the University of Ibadan, and their connection evolved into a romantic relationship that culminated in their marriage in 1984. They had three children together.

Tragically, on December 10, 2005, his wife, Bimbo Odukoya, along with 102 other individuals, lost their lives in the crash of Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145.
