The former Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has explained why he couldn’t attend the caucus meeting of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In an apology letter addressed to the acting APC chairman, Abubakar Kyari, Osinbajo stated that he was engaged in international responsibilities abroad before he received the invitation to the meeting.

Nevertheless, he emphasized his loyalty to the ruling party and mentioned that he had canceled some of his international engagements to attend two previously scheduled caucus meetings of the party, which were later postponed.

Osinbajo assured the party of his commitment and availability for future meetings and activities, wishing the APC productive discussions.

It is worth noting that Osinbajo, who was once a close ally of President Bola Tinubu, contested against the president in the presidential primary of the ruling party and came in third place.
