Ngelale previously served as the Senior Special Assistant for Public Affairs in the Presidency during the immediate past government, working in the office of former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

The appointment is set to take effect from July 31, 2023, and will continue until the end of the administration, unless the President decides otherwise.

Ngelale’s appointment was disclosed on the eve of Dele Alake’s departure from the position following his appointment as a Minister. Dele Alake is expected to be among the nominees to be screened by the Senate on Tuesday.

In response to his appointment, Ngelale expressed his humility and gratitude in a tweet on Monday night, stating that he feels honored by President Tinubu’s recognition and is committed to giving his best in his new role as the official spokesperson.
