BREAKING: Korede Is Dead

Trinity University, Yaba, Lagos, has announced the sad passing of its Vice Chancellor, Prof. Charles Korede Ayo.

The news was conveyed in a statement released by Michael Bamigbola, the Head of Corporate Affairs Department, yesterday. Prof. Ayo passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, August 2, 2023, after a brief illness.

During a meeting with the university’s management and staff, Pastor Samuel Olatunji, the Pro-Chancellor, expressed his condolences to the family of the late Vice Chancellor and the entire university community.

Pastor Olatunji spoke highly of Prof. Ayo’s fulfilled life, both as a committed Christian and a dedicated professional. Despite a short time in the position, the late Vice Chancellor made significant contributions to the success of the university.

He urged the family of Prof. Ayo and the university community to find strength and comfort in the Almighty and carry forward the legacy left behind by the departed scholar.

David Oyejide, the Registrar of the university, expressed deep sorrow at the loss of the Vice Chancellor, acknowledging that he will be greatly missed. He offered prayers for the family and the university left behind by Prof. Ayo.
