BREAKING: Lagos Assembly Rejects 17 Commissioner-Nominees, Confirms 22 (FULL LIST)

On Wednesday, the Lagos State House of Assembly granted confirmation to 22 individuals from the list of 39 commissioner-nominees recently submitted by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the screening process.

Nonetheless, the Assembly rejected the candidacies of 17 commissioner-nominees.

Presiding over the session, Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, expressed that the confirmation came about after a thorough and comprehensive evaluation of the nominees by a special committee chaired by the Chief Whip of the House, Hon. Fatai Mojeed.

He praised the committee for its diligence and advised the approved nominees to always keep in mind that their responsibilities are centered on serving the citizens of the state rather than individuals.

Obasa also assured that the Assembly will persist in its efforts for the betterment of the state.

The confirmation process was conducted through a voice vote, with each nominee’s name announced by Dr. Obasa.
