As reported by The PUNCH, the notice clarified that the NCC granted partial approval for the disconnection, following an application by MTN. Globacom was duly notified of this application and given an opportunity to present its perspective.

The NCC’s examination of the application and the circumstances surrounding the owed interconnect charges led to the determination that Globacom lacks sufficient or justifiable reasons for non-payment.

The notice stated, “Subscribers of Globacom will no longer be able to make calls to MTN but will be able to receive calls. The partial disconnection, however, will allow in-bound calls to the Globacom network.”

This development signals a potential disruption in communication services between Glo Mobile and MTN users.
