BREAKING: NNPP Expels Kwankwaso (DETAILS)
The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has officially expelled Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso due to his alleged refusal to appear before the party’s Disciplinary Committee.
This decision follows Mr. Kwankwaso’s earlier suspension by the party’s leadership during the National Convention on August 29 in Lagos.

The NNPP’s NEC had established a Disciplinary Committee and instructed them to invite Sen. Kwankwaso to address allegations of gross anti-party activities and mismanagement of party and campaign funds within a five-day period. They had warned that his failure to appear before the Disciplinary Committee would result in his expulsion from the party in accordance with the provisions of the party’s constitution for 2022 (as amended).
Abdulsalam Abdulrasaq, the Acting National Publicity Secretary of NNPP, confirmed in a statement that Sen. Kwankwaso has been expelled from the party with immediate effect due to his refusal to honor the committee’s invitations. Additionally, they stated that the former presidential candidate would be reported to relevant authorities to answer questions regarding financial impropriety related to the mismanagement of public funds.
The NNPP has been embroiled in a crisis, which began when the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, loyal to Kwankwaso, announced the suspension of the NNPP founder, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, and the National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Agbo Major, on August 24.
