Breaking: Oyetola Faces $20 Million Fraud Accusation As APC Slams Adeleke

In a petition submitted to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Adeleke accused Oyetola of money laundering and breaching the Public Procurement Act.

However, Kola Olabisi, the APC Media Director, spoke to the press, describing the fraud claims as politically motivated. He alleged that Adeleke was using the accusations as a way to settle political scores, particularly after his inability to control the state’s local government councils.

Olabisi dismissed the fraud allegations, calling them a deliberate attempt to tarnish Oyetola’s reputation. He emphasized that when efforts to take over the local government offices failed, the Adeleke administration resorted to such accusations to damage Oyetola’s image.

“Unlike Oyetola, who made the details of 110 contracts available online, Adeleke’s administration has published only seven contracts over the past two years,” Olabisi pointed out. “This raises serious concerns about their commitment to transparency.”

In response, the Osun State Government defended its actions, stating that the petition was based on a thorough investigation and was not politically motivated. The Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, asserted that a Contract Review Committee established in early 2023 found significant corruption, financial mismanagement, and violations of due process under Oyetola’s administration.

Alimi further insisted that the petition to the EFCC was the result of careful and evidence-based scrutiny, aimed at holding the previous administration accountable.
