BREAKING: Strong APC Chieftain Declines His Appointment (DETAILS)

Mr. Rasaq Salinsile, the factional chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, has turned down the appointment offered to him by Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, citing personal reasons.

Salinsile had previously led a faction of Osun APC loyal to the former governor, Rauf Aregbesola, and had fiercely opposed ex-governor Adegboyega Oyetola, who was running for a second term on the platform of the APC during the governorship poll on July 16, 2022, at the peak of the inter-party crisis that affected the ruling party in the state at that time.

Last week Thursday, Adeleke had listed Salinsile as the chairman of the Teaching Service Commission, but after his name was announced, Salinsile privately contacted the governor to decline the offer.

During the swearing-in ceremony for the chairmen of boards on Wednesday, Salinsile was conspicuously absent. In a subsequent list released by the government, Tope Mustapha Adeyemi had replaced him as TESCOM Chairman.

When reached for comment on Thursday, Salinsile simply stated that he declined the appointment due to personal reasons.
