In September 2024, President Tinubu received a 152-page report from the committee, outlining strategies to address the frequent clashes between farmers and herders in Nigeria.

Following his meeting with the President, Jega explained that the committee recommended a phased approach where ranching and open grazing would coexist in the short term until necessary infrastructure and public awareness facilitated a complete transition to ranching.

Additionally, the committee advocated for modern technology adoption in livestock production.

In October 2024, President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to livestock sector reforms, expressing confidence that the newly established Livestock Development Ministry could achieve “grace from grass.”
