Ngelale described Dr. Aina as a globally recognized public health leader, holding a Masters in Public Health from Harvard University (USA) and a Doctorate degree from Johns Hopkins University (USA), following his initial medical certification from the University of Ilorin.

He also noted that Dr. Ohiri most recently served as the Managing Director for Strategy at the Global Alliance for Vaccines in Geneva, Switzerland. He holds a Masters in Public Health from Harvard University (USA) and another Masters degree in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. His primary medical certification comes from the University of Lagos.

The presidential spokesperson highlighted that Mr. Ohiri brings significant experience from roles in the World Bank and McKinsey & Company, and has played a pivotal role in shaping reforms within the National Health Service (NHS) of the United Kingdom.

President Tinubu urged the newly appointed leaders of these crucial agencies to place emphasis on quality, equity, and accountability in delivering world-class healthcare to all sectors of Nigerian society.
