President Bola Tinubu has instructed the Director-General/CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Engr. Aliyu Abubakar Aziz, to initiate a 90-day pre-retirement leave.

The leave is set to start on August 24, 2023, leading to Aziz’s formal retirement on November 24, 2023.

According to a statement from Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, during the pre-retirement leave period, Engr. Bisoye Coker-Odusote will serve as the Acting Director-General/CEO of the NIMC for the initial 90 days, starting from August 24, 2023. Following this, Coker-Odusote will assume a full four-year term as the substantive NIMC Director-General/CEO beginning on November 24, 2023.

Furthermore, President Tinubu has approved the appointment of Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub to take on the role of Director/CEO of the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC).

This appointment follows the completion of the term of the former DTAC Director/CEO, Dr. Pius Osunyikanmi. The appointment of Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub takes immediate effect.
