Tobi Amusan, the celebrated world champion and record holder in the 100m hurdles, is currently facing an accusation of missing drug tests, which could potentially lead to her being suspended from competition.

Amusan took to social media to announce the charge, revealing that she has been accused of three missed drug tests within a 12-month period, a situation that could result in a two-year suspension, even if an athlete has never previously failed a drug test.

The 26-year-old athlete expressed her determination to challenge the charge and insisted that her case be decided by a tribunal of three arbitrators before the upcoming World Championships.

Amusan maintains her status as a clean athlete and pointed out that she regularly undergoes testing by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU), including being tested shortly after the alleged third missed test occurred.

Despite the charges brought against her by the AIU, Amusan firmly believes that the matter will be resolved in her favor, allowing her to compete in the World Championships scheduled for August.

As the reigning 100m hurdles world champion, she remains confident in her abilities and eager to showcase her talents on the international stage.

Amusan made history in the previous year when she broke the 100m hurdles world record during the semifinals of the World Championships in Eugene, Oregon, achieving an astounding time of 12.12 seconds.

Although she won the final later that day in 12.06 seconds, it did not count as an official record due to a tailwind exceeding the acceptable limit.

In the current season, Amusan has achieved a personal best time of 12.34 seconds, securing her a commendable second-place ranking in the world.

The top spot is currently held by Olympic gold medalist Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico, who recorded a time of 12.31 seconds.
