The Governorship Elections Petition Tribunal convened in Jos, North Central Nigeria, has affirmed the election victory of Governor Caleb Mutfwang from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a unanimous decision delivered on Friday, the three-member panel ruled that the petitioner’s case lacked merit. Justice Sunday Olorundahunsi, while pronouncing the judgment, dismissed all three arguments put forth by the petitioner and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda.

On March 20, the INEC Returning Officer, Prof Idris Amali, declared Mutfwang the winner with 525,299 votes, while Yilwatda garnered 481,370 votes.
The PDP secured victories in 10 local government areas, including Barkin Ladi, Bassa, Lantang North, Langtang South, Riyom, Mikang, Mangu, Jos East, Qua’an Pan, and Pokkos.
Conversely, the APC secured the highest votes in seven LGAs: Jos East, Kanke, Kanam, Pankshin, Shendam, Wase, and Jos North.
