BREAKING: What Tribunal Did To Election Of Nasir Idris As Kebbi Governor

The Kebbi State Election Petitions Tribunal, convened in Birnin-Kebbi, the capital of Kebbi State, has upheld the victory of Nasir Idris as the governor of the state.

The three-member panel, presided over by Justice Ofem I. Ofem, dismissed the petition brought forth by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Major General Aminu Bande (retired), as he failed to substantiate and substantiate the allegations that the election was fraught with irregularities.

The PDP’s case was centered around the authenticity of the testimonial of the State Deputy Governor, Umar Abubakar, as well as allegations of election malpractice and over-voting. They argued before the tribunal that the election did not adhere to the provisions of the Electoral Act in a significant manner.
