Cultists Kill Police Inspector

The atmosphere in Alasia, a community in Ijanikin, Ojo area of Lagos, has become tense after the murder of a police inspector by suspected cult members.

The victim, a police inspector attached to Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos, was brutally attacked and killed by a gang of seven men. The incident occurred around 8:40 pm on Sunday, just a short distance away from his home.

Eyewitnesses reported that the trouble began after the gang got into an altercation with the deceased officer.

Following the deadly attack, the gang members fled the scene, and the police have been pursuing them.

According to Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, one member of the gang has been apprehended. However, the rest of the gang is still on the run. During the investigation, the police recovered two cutlasses from the home of one of the suspects who managed to escape.

The incident has left the community in shock and fear as they await further developments from the police in their pursuit of the remaining suspects.
