CUPP Lashes Out: ‘Defectors No Longer Believe in the People’s Mandate’ as PDP Leaders Join APC

Notable defectors include Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, and other influential leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). In an interview with Punch, Ameh expressed his belief that the coalition will triumph over President Tinubu and the defectors in the 2027 elections.

He lamented that it was shameful to see that many no longer believe in the protection of the people’s mandate. He stated, “It is a shame. This is the day of mandate manipulators, oppressors, and undemocratic forces. People no longer believe the people’s mandate should be protected at all costs.”

Ameh accused the defectors of using the people’s will for personal gain, citing efforts to avoid EFCC scrutiny and secure second-term tickets. He added, “This is why this coalition exists. In 2027, like-minded individuals will unite. Strong alliances and coalitions will emerge, along with a consensus from the Nigerian people, and this will sweep away the APC, President Tinubu, and the defectors.”
