Davido’s Father Stuns Osun With N500m Security Donation At Trust Fund Launch
According to Ireporter Online, billionaire businessman Dr Deji Adeleke, father of Nigerian music star Davido, has donated N500 million to the Osun State Security Trust Fund during its official launch held in Osogbo on Thursday.
The announcement was made at the unveiling ceremony by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, who also revealed that the Osun State Government committed N300 million as initial funding support for the security initiative. The statement further noted that several private businesses also made financial contributions to strengthen the fund.
Speaking at the event, Governor Ademola Adeleke explained that the Security Trust Fund is aimed at improving the state’s security architecture through sustained investment in modern equipment and operational support for security agencies. He disclosed that refurbished Armoured Personnel Carriers and new patrol vehicles would soon be deployed to enhance security operations across the state.
The governor stressed that the initiative is not politically driven but a strategic intervention designed to protect lives and property, adding that the administration is committed to accountability, transparency, and due process in the management of the fund. He also highlighted plans to establish a modern Situation Room equipped with real-time CCTV surveillance to boost intelligence and response capabilities.
The Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, stated that the launch became possible following the activation of the enabling law passed in 2012, while the Secretary of the Security Trust Fund, Femi Oyedipe, urged continued support from stakeholders, noting that the initiative would significantly improve security coordination and provide essential tools for operatives in the state.
