Governor Oborevwori had earlier denied these allegations through a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Festus Ahon. However, the Delta APC has made it clear that they are not swayed by the speculation.

In a statement released on Thursday and signed by State Publicity Secretary Mr. Valentine Onojeghuo in Asaba, APC emphasized its disinterest in the governor’s potential defection, citing his administration’s abysmal track record.

The statement read, “Governor Oborevwori’s tenure has been plagued by underperformance, mismanagement, and a complete lack of tangible development. Despite substantial federal allocations of over ₦500 billion monthly, the state has seen little progress.”

APC highlighted the stark contrast between Governor Oborevwori’s leadership and their own ideals of progress, good governance, and sustainable development. The party vowed to continue championing these values for the people of Delta State.

“Delta APC remains steadfast in promoting honest and accountable leadership that puts the welfare of the people first,” Onojeghuo stated. “We are not swayed by political opportunism or shifting alliances for personal gain.”

The party stressed that true progress will only be achieved through effective governance, leadership integrity, and a focus on the development of Delta State.
