According to Ireporter Online, Fani-Kayode made the remarks in a post shared on his Facebook page on Saturday, where he reacted to a recent national convention reportedly organised by a faction of the party linked to David Mark. He characterised the event as poorly organised and indicative of internal disunity within the party.

He further alleged that the gathering reflected weak coordination, noting that attendees appeared uncomfortable due to inadequate facilities, including a lack of proper ventilation. He also claimed the event was marred by confusion and disorderly conduct among participants.

The former minister recounted an incident in which a party chieftain mistakenly referenced another political party during the proceedings, describing it as evidence of disorganisation within the ranks. He also pointed to what he described as unusual occurrences and inconsistencies during the convention as further signs of instability.

Fani-Kayode dismissed the political relevance of the faction, maintaining that it does not pose a significant challenge in future elections. He reiterated his belief that the current administration remains firmly positioned ahead of the 2027 polls.
