“Divine Exit: Adamawa’s Ex-Senator Abbo Says God Directed Him To Leave APC”
Former Senator Ashaku Abbo Says God Has Directed Him to Leave APC After 31-Day Fast
Ashaku Abbo, former senator representing Adamawa North, has revealed that he is set to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that this decision came after deep spiritual reflection and guidance — a departure from the instinctive political choices of his past.
According to IReporter Online, Abbo admitted that his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC in 2020 was made without seeking divine direction.
In a reflective message shared with the public, the ex-lawmaker confessed that his earlier move to the APC was based on human reasoning and political calculation rather than spiritual conviction. “I left PDP for APC in 2020 without praying or seeking God’s direction. I acted purely on tangible reasons, human judgment, and the desire to go with the tide,” Abbo said.
According to IReporter Online, the senator recently completed a 31-day period of fasting and prayer, during which he sought divine clarity on his political path and broader life decisions. He said an official statement would soon follow after consultations with his constituents and trusted associates.
“This time around, I have undertaken 31 days of fasting and prayers, seeking directions. Among other things, I asked God to reveal His will for me,” he stated. “A tentative official statement will be issued soon after due consultations with my people on what the Spirit told me. I am no longer moved by sight, sweet words, emotions, or mere instincts. I am now led by the Spirit of God and calm-spirited negotiations.”
He concluded his remarks with a scriptural reflection, saying, “The Lord God directs the steps of the righteous. Good morning and Jumaat Mubarak to all Muslim faithful. Remember, both Prophets Ishmael and Isaac are children of Abraham.”
According to IReporter Online, Abbo’s latest declaration suggests a shift toward spiritually guided politics, as the country continues to experience realignments ahead of the next electoral cycle.
