Chief Priest Secures APC Form For House Of Representatives Ambition (Photo)
Celebrity entrepreneur Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, widely known as Chief Priest, has officially announced his intention to contest for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in Imo State ahead of the 2027 general elections. According to Ireporter Online, the businessman plans to run under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has already obtained the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms for the House of Representatives race.
In a related development, Chief Priest recently sparked widespread reactions on social media after sharing his perspective on the influence of online popularity in politics. The nightlife promoter argued that strong support on digital platforms does not necessarily translate into electoral victory. He maintained that politicians who receive heavy criticism online often perform better at the polls than those who enjoy widespread praise.
Sharing his thoughts via Instagram, he emphasized that social media sentiment rarely reflects actual voting outcomes. He cited Desmond Elliot as an example, noting that despite facing significant backlash online, the lawmaker still secured electoral victory. Chief Priest concluded that online discourse is often driven by noise rather than real political capacity, suggesting that public opinion on social platforms should not be mistaken for electoral strength.
