Dollar To Naira Exchange Rate For Today, April 30, 2026
According to Ireporter Online, the Nigerian foreign exchange market continued to reflect divergent rates between the official and parallel markets on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, as the naira traded at varying levels against the United States dollar. In the Lagos parallel market, commonly referred to as the black market or “Aboki FX,” dealers reportedly sold the dollar at ₦1,400 while purchasing at ₦1,385, based on information obtained from Bureau De Change operators. Market participants noted that trading activities remain largely driven by demand and supply dynamics outside official regulatory oversight.
In contrast, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) maintained its official exchange rate band, with the dollar trading around ₦1,386 at the upper end and ₦1,365 at the lower end of the official window. The apex bank has repeatedly emphasized that it does not recognize transactions conducted in the parallel market, advising individuals and businesses seeking foreign exchange to access it through authorized financial institutions.
Analysts observed that the persistent gap between both markets continues to influence pricing trends across imports, travel, and general economic activities, as traders and consumers adjust to fluctuating foreign exchange realities. It was also noted that exchange rates may differ slightly across various market locations due to ongoing volatility and market pressures.
